Quiznos Sub (formerly Quizno's Subs) is a fast-food sandwich chain that specializes in toasted submarine sandwiches. As of 2005, it has become the second largest submarine sandwich shop chain in North America, passing the older and slower growing Blimpie, though still a fraction of the size of Subway. In the kitchen of Footer’s Italian restaurant in Denver, the first Quizno’s recipes were born. The owners of Footer’s used the baguette style bread, red wine vinaigrette dressing and tuna salad created in their kitchen to establish their new venture, opening the first Quizno’s in Denver in 1981.It started franchising in 1983.

Over the years, Quiznos has varied success at advertising campaigns. On September 18, 2006, Quiznos launched the most aggressive advertising campaign aimed at Subway. Dubbed the Prime Rib Cheese steak Challenge, customers are challenged to compare the brand new Prime Rib Cheese steak against Subway's Cheese steak sandwich. The claim is that the Prime Rib Cheese steak has twice the meat then Subway's Cheese steak. If the customers are not satisfied, then they can fill out a form, mail the form along with their receipt, and they will receive a coupon for a free sandwich.
There are over 500 Quizno's restaurants operating in twenty one countries. Its philosophy of international growth and attention to localization has made it a major QSR player around the world.
