Product Description "Wedding Vendor Handbook- Get to the TOP and Stay There" is the first "how to" book written especially for wedding vendors by a top southern California wedding planner. It contains simple steps to joining the ranks of top wedding vendors and gives insider information as well as valuable tips on running your own wedding business successfully. It is useful to established wedding vendors or those just starting their business. The book is divided into three parts. The first defines what a top wedding vendor is; the second describes the elements of being a top wedding vendor and the third part lists 26 wedding vendor disciplines from Baker to Videographer. For each there is an in-depth discussion of the qualities and requirements that top wedding vendors possess. There are Iron-clad Rules throughout the book as well as interesting anecdotes that illustrate some of the sometimes funny and sometimes shocking things that the author has witnessed during her career.

A basic MUST read for every wedding vendor December 12, 2007 I loved reading this easy to follow book. I have been in the wedding industry for 24 years and found that Barbara Wallace points out very good basic skills and manners all vendors need to know and practice. From how to dress, your vehicle, drinking on the job to pleasing your clients and other vendors.

This book is very thin. Basically, have good ethics and good customer service skills. It could have been written as a brochure. Some of the tips are good, but overall very weak.

A Valuable Reference for Success September 18, 2005 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This book is packed with gems of wisdom and mixed with amusing - sometimes incredible - true stories to illustrate a point. In a candid style, the author reveals successful steps for wedding vendors to climb to the top. It contains sensible rules that are easy to read and easy to follow...and the writer does not shy from giving her opinion on controversial issues. Whether a planner or a vendor, Barbara's advice will help you create or refine the business practices you need to be a front runner in the wedding industry.
A "must read" guide to being the best September 9, 2005 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I was excited to discover this book - covering a topic that isn't a popular one and yet should be required reading for anyone who is thinking about the wedding industry as a career (as well as those who have been in the industry and want to step up to a higher level of business. ) Some of the content is 'common sense', yet in my experience, common sense isn't so common anymore. Ms. Wallace covers all the bases for all vendors. At times, I was hoping for a little more depth in a topic, but just as often, I was elated to read a suggestion or topic that would validate the way I run my business (e.g. the topic of cell phones - I stood up and cheered when reading that!) or a piece of advice that I had not discovered on my own that has already made a difference in my business. I highly recommend this book as a resource - in fact, I give this book as a "graduation" gift to interns in my own wedding business.
