If you are on Tiered Billing you are simply paying too much.
Times change, as has the Credit Card Processing Industry.

Recent legislation has lowered Debit Card rates for Merchants but you will only see these savings if you are on the Interchange Plus Pass Through Pricing model.
It may sound a little confusing but by operating under this model you will almost certainly cut down your rates thereby lowering your overhead costs and increasing revenue.

I strongly urge any Merchant to explore their options. Here are a few things to demand from any Merchant Processor. If they won't give them to you, take your business elsewhere.

Don't get stuck in long contracts. Find a Processor who won't charge any termination fees.

Every eCommerce account needs a Gateway (Authorize.Net), find a reseller who will give you better rates.

Don't pay annual fees. They are a pointless charge.

Do not accept Tiered Billing. Demand InterchangePlus pass through pricing.
