Actually, I'm surprised nobody's taking about Jollibee. Jollibee is very much popular in the Philippines. It's slogan, "Langhap Sarap" is very appropriate, because it has capture the Filipino taste. Does anybody have thoughts on Jollibee?

The reason why Jollibee is not being mentioned in this forum could be that, it hasn't gained world-wide recognition yet. This is an international site, and although Jollibee has extended its market internationally, not too many are aware of its business and most importantly, there are too many competition outside the country. But, it's a good move that you introduced our popular fast food chain here. Let's just give them some information about "langhap sarap" Jollibee.

Jollibee was founded by Tony Tan Caktiong. It actually started as a Magnolia Ice Cream parlor in cubao back in 1975. It just later expanded to serving burgers, spaghettis and it became a dine-in fast-food restaurant, which they named "Jollibee". Now, it has acquired several franchises auch as Greenwich, Delifrance, Chowking, Red ribbon Bakeshop, and it runs a number of fast-food chains in Asia.

What a success story, right?

I never even heard of this name until now, it would be interesting to see if there would be a market for it in the US. I wonder if there are any future plans to try and expand worldwide.

I believe it has. The Jollibee franchises are currently opening in the Asian countries. Perhaps someday, it will reach the US. However, I'm not so sure, it could compete with McDonald's, considering, it's product line is more popular the Filipino community.
