Depends on the area where you live, of course, but one that does well almost everywhere is video game stores.

You really can't call one franchise the best. You need to look at all the factors, one may be better for you but not good for someone else, and vise versa. Look at things like start up capital, what % of revenue they charge, what kind of help your getting from them (i.e. marketing, staffing, etc), how well is the brand know, how much work do you have to do, how much work are you willing to do, etc.You should be able to find most of this on the web.

Darden Restaurants ( DRI ) that's Red Lobster and Olive Garden...very decent food, nice places, people in middle America love that style of restaurant for a " night out".It's been a well- run company for years now... making profits and growing. " printing money"

Your best bet is to find a franchise in an industry you know at least ... The amount of money you have available to invest in a franchise.It's in Subway's best interest that you succeed so you have that on your side.

In order to talk about what franchise is "best" you probably need to better qualify the word "best". i.e. what factors are most important to you? Maybe you are just thinking in terms of dollars and ROI, which is fine... but keep in mind that there's a lot more to the equation than that. This is not some stock pick you are making. This is a business that you're going to wake up every day and work hard at, for probably 3-5 years before you even earn back the amount you pay for the franchise fee up front. So you better like what you'll be doing!
