Okay lets break this down. If you join the Air Force your hours are whatever they tell you they are. There are no "business hours" in the military. You could be working midnight shift, you could be working 4am to 4pm. The first year or so you are in, you have to complete your career development course. This is upgrade training for whatever career you are in. Plus when you first come in, you are the low person on the totem pole. This means that you will work the bad shift or the bad job most likely. If you work in Finance, where hours are pretty much set you may be able to have a second job. If you are Services, Security Forces, or Medical, you probably won't. Also, keep in mind, any jobs outside of the Air Force have to be approved by your commander. If he feels that you having a job will take away from your training you can't get a second job. If you deploy, your franchise may be screwed.I love the military, it has given me my life. I recommend it to anyone. But if you can't commit to it, then you have no place in it.
