Default Tobey Maguire is thinking about giving up the Spider-Man film franchise for

good. What do you think? As the world has probably known by now, I am super duper deeply in love with Tobey Maguire. He is my personal Spider-Man and Tiger, and I don't want to see him give up the best comic book movie franchise in the world. I also don't want to see his adorable daughter, Ruby Sweetheart Maguire, whom I call Cheeks, have a poor life. I want to see her have a lovely life full of prosperity, happiness, health, and above all things, love.

I hope he doesn't leave, but if he does they need to end the series. Don't try and recast Spiderman.

I think same as what you think. He shouldn't quit Spidey.

That would be HORRIBLE!!! My little brother totally LOVES Spiderman. If you ask what he wants to be when he grows up he'll say, "I want to be Spiderman!!!" Yeah, he's only five years old, but he absoutley adores Spiderman!!! The movies just wouldn't be the same without him!!!

If they offer him enough money, I'm sure he'll change his mind.

Personally I belive that a trilogy is mroe than enough of one film (Die Hard, Lord Of The Rings, Jurrasic Park, The Matrix) and they shouldn't make anymore because the idea just gets boring (I wish they weren't making a Die Hard 4) So I belive he should get out of there so that he doesn't have just Spiderman as what he is known for, and hopefully it will stop them from making a 4th which will just be wrong.

Maguire has been on record since before the release of Spiderman 2 that he would only do three movies in the series. The franchise was originally designed to only be three movies long and the ongoing story arc (Peter and MJs relationship, the conflict between Peter and Harry Osborne, etc.) reflects that. Talk of a Spiderman 4 didn't even begin until Spiderman 2 made more money than God on its opening weekend. This was well after Maguire had made it clear he would not return after 3. I don't believe Sony or the producers ever seriously considered that Maguire WOULD come back for a fourth round. You can count on the fact that Maguire will not be back for a fourth go-around. Which probably means neither will Dunst, Russo or any of the other ensemble cast. I'm going to surmise that director Sam Raimi will probably be done with the franchise after this third installment as well. What Sony will probably do is give the franchise a rest for about five years or so after the release of Spiderman 3 and then re-launch it with a new creative team and new Spiderman.I do agree it would be a poor decision to continue on with the current franchise (which has produced a Spidey movie every two years) without Maguire. All the kids think of him AS Spiderman / Peter Parker now. They will need to put some space between the first three movies and what they are going to do next.
