i can't stress enough about the 3L's.LOCATION.LOCATION.LOCATION.true, busy intersections are very good locations for your shop to be noticed but if course it still depends what kind of product you are selling.food is a very good product but let us say coffeshop, i do not think it would work because you have to consider the psychology of coffee drinkers, it is a lifestyle, a sign of relaxation.so you need a place really serene.a community based coffe shop would be ideal.of course , coffee goes with pastries .

As for me choosing an area to place a business still depends on the product and market. Busy streets and intersections is a good idea. However, if the business your setting up does not fit to the crowd for potential clients business is still useless. Lets say you want to set up a high class coffee shop then the site that you prefer is majority middle class type of customers. Most probably your business will have a hard time doing sales.

It really depends on the target market of your product. Sometimes, no matter how crowded the place is, if it your products are not directed to that group of people, you will just get unnoticed.

High walk through traffic areas are always the best. You cant help but notice a business you walk past all the time. A spot in a shopping centre would always be the best bet but rent is always higher of course.
