When I choose a place for my business, I usually start finding spots on busy streets and intersections. This could be applied in franchises. After all, franchises are also businesses. In this way, you can be sure that people would be able to know that your business/franchise exists.

As for me choosing an area to place a business still depends on the product and market. Busy streets and intersections is a good idea. However, if the business your setting up does not fit to the crowd for potential clients business is still useless. Lets say you want to set up a high class coffee shop then the site that you prefer is majority middle class type of customers. Most probably your business will have a hard time doing sales.

| | Re: Busy streets and intersections It really depends on the target market of your product. Sometimes, no matter how crowded the place is, if it your products are not directed to that group of people, you will just get unnoticed. |

It is important to situate your outlet in areas with high traffic or population. Food cart franchises for instance are best situated in areas like schools, church, parks, hospitals and malls.

High walk through traffic areas are always the best. You cant help but notice a business you walk past all the time. A spot in a shopping centre would always be the best bet but rent is always higher of course.

I think much of the cost you pay for these pricey busy street and intersection sites is based on the idea that the location itself is sufficient advertising that can reach your target market either directly or indirectly. Comparatively, this would still be a much better choice than having a secluded location and investing on flyers, posters, and advertisements. If it's too inaccessible, no amount of advertising will send throngs to your store.

For busy streets, ideal business to start to was all about the food line. But be sure that your products don't have dusts on it. Although sometimes people just ignore if the food is healthy or not, it is still better to sell products that has the highest quality among others.
