House to debate elimination of the franchise tax (The Wichita Eagle)

The Kansas House of Representatives on Monday will consider eliminating the franchise tax. They will debate a House Bill 2031, which would eliminate the tax, saving businesses $44 million. It may be voted on as early as Tuesday, said Bernie Koch, lobbyist for the Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce.
