People who dont like taking orders will not enjoy franchising. Sticking to the franchise rules is critical unless you go for a marketing franchise where you are allowed to be creative and add your own ideas.

There are less risks in buying a franchise rather than a proper business but there are still the financial risks and worries of being successful.

Buying a franchise is a legally binding deal and many people expect instant success. It is a lot of hard work but if you put the effort in theres no reason you shouldnt have a mentally and financially rewarding business.

If you want to work it your way, franchising may not be the option for you because you need to stick to the rules of the main company and you are not still the one totally in-charge of that business.

Good franchises cost a lot so financial barriers are a definite challenge if you consider franchising plus, there is of course no guarantee of success.

While browsing the internet I found a very useful nuggets in franchising business I would like to share this one to everybody. According to a reference site: Ten Golden Rules. Follow these rules and you should enjoy the benefits of profitable franchising.

1. Read and understand the contents of the franchise agreement and other documentation.
2. Understand what self-employment is all about.
3. Capitalize the business properly.
4. Talk to other franchisees of the franchisor.
5. Confirm oral representations made by the franchisor.
6. Get professional advice.
7. Meet the franchisor’s operational staff.
8. Visit the franchisor’s corporate office.
9. Get the most out of the initial training.
10. Follow the system.

I agree with the points you mentioned here. A lot of misunderstanding between two parties is due to not understanding what is written in the contract. It is important that all issues should be tackled before signing up.

Business SYNERGY is also one of the challenger of Franchising. It's like All for one - one for all. Franchising is a big "family" whenever there a problem or idea everyone will work for it. Everyone will give its best foot out.

The challenges of franchising doesn't only come during the start of the business. Franchising also becomes a challenge when you've already succeeded and making good money. Expanding is the next step and bigger challenge that comes after franchising and it's success.

for me the real challenge of buying into a franchise is its incredible limitations. some franchisors have incredulous ways of dealing with the franchisee.you got into business because you want to be your own boss but if you get into the franchise ,you have a boss to follow. you do not have the flexiblilty to adjust the standards from good to better. it would take time, and usually they won't bother to look into it since they believe that they have a tried and tested system which should be followed. that is the problem with the turnkey business.
