Beguile organizer John D'Esposito can't get enough of the Jersey shore.
Not only is he bringing his yearly music holiday -- the biggest in New Jersey -- to Asbury Park this can, but he's planning to throw a 2nd, similar holiday three months later in Wildwood, a town with a lengthy tradition of hosting musical events. D'Esposito made the statement at a Bamboozle kickoff party at Irving Piazza in new york Town on Wednesday night.
The holiday, which will occur on Aug 24 and 25, will not be Beguile II. D'Esposito and his team will book pop and country, not the punk rock, hip hop, electronic music and heavy metal that's characteristic of Beguile entertainment.
D'Esposito provided extra info about how he intends to squeeze the massive Bamboozle into Asbury Park. There will indeed be a mainstage on the beach -- the largest, the promoter recounted, ever built for the 'Boozle. Bamboozle will take over the strip of beach without delay north of Convention Hall and Paramount Theatre, each of which will be utilised for the holiday. As of now, swimming and surfing while listening to music will be allowed.
The B-Boy Arena and hip-hop stage will be found in the park slightly to the south of the Berkeley Hotel. The Break stage for contest winners will be on Ocean Avenue north of Convention Hall.
D'Esposito plans to recreate Skate N ' Surf -- the original holiday that engendered the Bamboozle -- at Convention Hall. He's got some ambitious plans for the Paramount Theatre, too. A troupe of fave Beguile musicians will perform two live stagings of the Rocky Horror Picture Show : one at 11 p.m. And one at 1 a.m.
The holiday will run from Five p.m. Until Eleven p.m. On Friday the Eighteenth of May and Two p.m. Until 11 p.m. On Sat. and Sun.. D'Esposito guesstimates that 105,000 listeners will attend Bamboozle 2012.
Will the shore city have difficulty accommodating all those festivalgoers? D'Esposito isn't worried. He believes that there'll be ample parking available, and he clarified the walk from the train station to the beach isn't than the walk from the Izod Center to MetLife Stadium. It is a heck of a lot more lovely, too.
Beguile is also creating an electronic wristband system that may allow organizers to maintain a record of the crowds and will obviate the necessity for cash.
Jersey favorites Dramarama will reunite for an afterparty concert at the Stone Pony on Saturday night.
