Default Computer Shop Franchise

Anybody know how much will it cost to franchise a computer shop nowadays? Starting up this business is very profitable today because of the online games available. We are thinking of franchising this line of business or better yet start it from scratch on our own. What do you think?

Computer shops are sprouting everywhere these days. I don't personally recommend franchising a computer shop business because a computer shop business depends on a few factors. First is location, pricing, business hours, accessibility, the kind of services you offer and how well your computer can serve a customer's needs. To franchise a computer business is very much just like buying it's brand name. You don't need this because it's not like the food or clothing business where customers need to be assured that what they're eating or wearing is of superior quality. The money that you will be spending on the franchise can make good use for your computer shop business such that the expensive franchising fee could instead provide you of computers with higher and better and faster specifications. Don't go for name, go for specifications and good computer brands. Make your place nice, comfortable and choose a location that is accessible such as near schools or any place with high foot traffic. Computers with good and high specifications can best support gaming which can make the user feel "better served" when he/she is given fast and uninterrupted computer and internet access.

Just my two cents worth since I own a computer shop.

To have an idea how much it will cost you to start this business, you need to know how much does a computer costs. This way, you can estimate how many computers you can buy at first. Research on the price of Internet connection and ask for people around you about the status of DSL in your place. The quality of service of a DSL provider may vary depending on the location.

In my opinion, it would be better if you start your business on your own instead of purchaisng a franchise. I don't think people are very much concerned about the brand name of the computer shop. They are much more after your services, the price and the specifications of your computer.

Well, the benefit of a computer shop franchise is that your franchiser will help you determine a good business plan, and will cover the costs of making sure you have top of the line equipment and technical assistance. They also provide various packages to help you make the size of the business commensurate to your target market. The only problem with computer shop franchises is that there are far too many start-ups to compete with in locations where students and yuppies go to pay to use computers.

Thanks to all for your comments. I would probably start from scratch and have an idea of my own for my shop name. Just like my husband said, we must have a nice location spot if we consider this kind of business.

i suggest put it up,go for it and bite the bullet!the only way for all of us to know if it works or not and if it is for us or not. i still believe gaming shops do still sells and there are still a lot of customers in need of these shops. it is actually better to align your shop along with another gaming shop because the traffic is there and it would also develop healthy competition. the computer units are not enough to most players. it is still not saturated.
