An upbeat vibrant atmosphere in the stores is a result of white fixturing, walls painted bright colors, stereo receiver/DVD playing music videos and recent hits on mounted hanging monitors and a 4 speaker stereo system. Striking fixtures and supplier designed specialty merchandising racks enhance the shopping experience, displaying items such as; sunglasses, key chains and magnets. Attractive in-store signage creates a shopper-friendly feeling for the customer.

We offer a total comprehensive package, which covers every pertinent aspect of opening and successfully running a retail business long term. We assist in finding your new TDZ store location, help negotiate the lease, perform the store design and layout, do the physical build out, help you to secure financing as well as provide ongoing support. We supply all TDZ store merchandise, fixtures, equipment along with the work crew to open the store, and we do it quickly and professionally.

Merchandise From Our Quality Suppliers Network: The long term success of any store revolves around merchandise. In our business, the value, variety and amount of new merchandise you provide customers are three critical variables that will determine how successful you are, and this is where we excel!

Our merchandise is provided through a vast network of suppliers, both importers and domestic closeout companies. We travel to personally see each of our suppliers on a regular basis where we inspect new Teen Discount Zone store merchandise to assure high value and quality, and to review hot, new merchandise. Then, we negotiate rock-bottom prices on behalf of our network.

Training and Support: Training is designed to ensure that each new owner is familiar with the many aspects of managing their store. This experience begins before and continues well after the store’s opening. Your trainer will be in contact with you both before and after the store has opened. This training will include a full review of a comprehensive operations manual and related materials designed to aid you in operating your store on a day-to-day basis. Both classroom and onsite training are available, and encouraged, prior to the opening of the store.

Top Quality Fixtures: We create an upscale look designed to appeal to the Teen shopper. The store fixtures have been specifically designed to present a higher perceived value for the merchandise. We supply upscale gondola style units, beautiful cash counters, lighted showcases and glass display units. We use slat board with melamine finish on all interior walls. We do not supply carpeting but when it is needed the landlord will generally provide it at no cost.

Our fixtures for your TDZ store are designed to be used for many, many years. We also give you an allowance for the outdoor sign and provide interior store signs. We send a professional installer to the store location to install the slat board and all fixtures. Then, the work crew will stock merchandise and ready the store for the grand opening.

This is NOT a franchise: You are the owner of the store and have 100% control over all aspects of your business. Since we are NOT a franchise, there are no ongoing royalties or fees, but you DO receive permanent long-term support and access to the purchasing network. From the beginning you have total control over all decisions regarding YOUR store, including site location, store layout, timing of opening and merchandise.

Company History: James Wichert, owner and president of Teen Discount Zone started in the industry in 1992 when he opened the first dollar store in Las Vegas. Shortly thereafter, he began to receive inquiries from customers and tourists about assisting them in opening stores throughout the United States. This became the beginning of the store development operations. The store development business has steadily grown and Dollar Store Services was incorporated in 1995. Since he started in the dollar store business, Mr. Wichert has assisted over 1,500 individuals open stores throughout the United States and worldwide. Recently, Dollar Store Services Inc. has opened Canadian and Latin American based operations.

Today, the company continues to grow at a fast pace. Current plans are to open over 200 Discount Stores annually throughout North America and this feat requires dedication and knowledge by all involved. Wichert is very pleased that the storeowners are able to rely on his staff of experienced professionals. "The staff's superior dedication is at the heart of the Company's success," states Wichert. Wichert also owns a large wholesale company, which supplies over 18,000 products to its customers. The key feature of the wholesale company is that every product made available to our network of stores has been hand selected. According to Wichert "Buying product through the Internet or from catalogs is the same as buying sight unseen. How can anyone possibly negotiate the correct price of a product without seeing and touching it to determine both quality and product value?"
